Have you ever had those times when you just feel hit on all sides? I feel like I am in that place in life right now. It just seems like a Mack truck is coming in every direction at full speed. No it is not the swine flu. I just feel so bogged down with the things of this world. I feel like I have to fight now to utter a prayer to the Lord. I just feel like this is a time in our lives that we are having to cling to the hope of Christ in us. It has reminded me of the verse in 2 Corinthians "8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; 10 always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. 11For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh... I just keep reminding myself of the verses that come later too..16 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 17For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18 as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal."
God give me eyes to look at the things unseen. Give me strength to not lose heart. Remind me that you are ever-near.
